Terms of Service
Last updated: 18 June 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Sleipnir, a multistream RTMP relay service ("Sleipnir", "the Service", "we", "us", or "our").
Sleipnir is a trading name of Ryan C, a sole trader registered in the United Kingdom, with correspondence address: Belfast BT1 1AA.
By creating an account or using Sleipnir, you ("you" or "User") agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use Sleipnir. By creating an account, you confirm that you are 16 or older. We may terminate accounts we believe to be operated by users under 16 without parental consent.
You must provide accurate registration information and keep it current. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
2. Account security
You are responsible for keeping your password and stream key confidential. Do not share them. If you believe your account has been accessed without your authorisation, change your password immediately and contact us at [email protected].
We use Argon2id to hash your password — we do not store it in a recoverable form. We cannot retrieve your password if you forget it; you must reset it via the password-reset flow.
3. The Service
Sleipnir is a multistream RTMP relay. When you stream to Sleipnir using OBS, Streamlabs, or any RTMP-compatible encoder, we forward your stream in real time to one or more third-party platforms ("Destinations") that you configure — for example, Twitch, YouTube Live, Kick, or other RTMP-compatible services.
What Sleipnir does:
- Accepts your inbound RTMP stream
- Forwards it without transcoding to your configured Destinations
- Tracks usage metadata (session start and end times, bitrate, duration) to enforce plan limits
- Provides a dashboard to manage your account, Destinations, and billing
- StreamTeam: optional team profiles with a public team page showing which members are currently live and on which platforms.
What Sleipnir does not do:
- Transcode, re-encode, or modify the bitrate, resolution, or quality of your stream
- Record, store, or play back the content of your streams beyond brief in-memory buffering required for the relay
- Provide chat, viewer counts, or other engagement features (these come from the Destinations themselves)
- Guarantee that any third-party Destination will accept or successfully receive your stream
Your use of any Destination is governed by that Destination's own terms of service. We have no relationship with, and no control over, the Destinations.
4. Plans, fees, and billing
We currently offer the following plans:
| Plan | Price | Hours/month | Destinations | Max bitrate |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 20 | 3 | 5 Mbps |
| Standard | $5/mo or $54/yr | 100 | 5 | 10 Mbps |
| Pro | $18/mo or $194/yr | 360 | 8 | 10 Mbps |
24-hour session limit (all plans). Continuous streaming sessions are limited to 24 hours. Streams that reach this limit are automatically ended; you are free to restart immediately at no cost and with no rate limit on restarts. This applies to all plans, including Pro, and exists to prevent runaway sessions caused by encoder or network issues.
Prices are in US dollars and exclude any applicable taxes (such as VAT) which will be added at checkout where required.
Paid subscriptions are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise Stripe to charge the payment method you provide on a recurring basis according to the plan you select, in accordance with Stripe's terms of service. Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date.
You can cancel your subscription at any time from the Billing page in your dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period; you retain access until then.
We may change plan prices, limits, or features. We will notify existing subscribers of material changes by email at least 30 days in advance. If you do not agree to a price change, you may cancel before it takes effect.
5. Refunds and cancellations
30-day, no-questions-asked refund. If you are not satisfied with your first paid subscription for any reason, contact us at [email protected] within 30 days of your initial purchase and we will refund the full amount paid.
After 30 days, no refunds. We do not refund partial or full billing periods after the 30-day window. You may cancel at any time to stop future charges, but unused time on a current subscription is not refundable.
Annual subscriptions. The 30-day refund window starts at the date of initial purchase. After 30 days, the remaining months on an annual subscription are not refundable, even if you cancel mid-year.
Plan downgrades. If you downgrade from Pro to Standard (or to Free) mid-period, the new lower price takes effect at the start of your next billing cycle. We do not pro-rate refunds for the unused portion of the higher-priced plan.
Downtime credit. If Sleipnir is unavailable for more than 24 consecutive hours due to a fault on our side, we will credit your account with additional days equal to the downtime, regardless of plan. This is offered as goodwill, not as a contractual service-level commitment (see Section 9).
Suspension. If your account is suspended for violation of these Terms (see Section 8), no refund is owed for the remainder of any current billing period.
6. Acceptable use
Individual creator use only. The Free, Standard, and Pro plans are licensed for use by individual creators streaming their own content. They are not licensed for use by businesses, agencies, broadcast operators, white-label resellers, or other organizations whose primary purpose is to operate, resell, or commercially distribute streaming services. Individual creators who monetize their streams (through subscriptions, ads, sponsorships, or similar) on the Destinations are considered individual creators and may use these plans.
If you represent an organization, agency, broadcaster, or commercial reseller, please contact [email protected] for commercial licensing terms.
You agree not to use Sleipnir to:
- Stream content that infringes the copyright, trademark, or other intellectual-property rights of others
- Stream content that is illegal in your jurisdiction or in the United Kingdom
- Stream content depicting child sexual abuse material, or any content that sexualises or endangers minors
- Stream content that incites violence, terrorism, or hatred against any individual or group
- Stream non-consensual intimate imagery
- Use Sleipnir to evade bans or restrictions imposed by Destinations (for example, relaying content from a banned account through a proxy)
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to compromise the Service or its infrastructure
- Use Sleipnir in any way that would cause us to violate the terms of any Destination, payment processor, or hosting provider
- Resell access to Sleipnir without our written permission
- Use automated tools to create accounts or bypass plan limits
- Use the Service for organizational, commercial, or broadcasting purposes other than as an individual creator (see Individual creator use only above)
- Upload or display, on a StreamTeam page, any team name, description, or banner image that is unlawful, infringing, offensive, or that you do not have the right to use
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account engaged in the above activities. Determinations are at our discretion, made in good faith, and based on the information available to us at the time.
StreamTeam. StreamTeam lets you create or join teams that have a public team page. You are responsible for the content you place on a team page, including the team name, description, and any banner image. By creating or joining a team, you acknowledge that your display name, live status, the platforms you stream to, and your channel links will be displayed publicly, as described in our Privacy Policy. We may remove team content, or remove or disband a team, that violates these Terms.
Compliance with destination platforms. You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of Sleipnir, including streaming the same content to several platforms at the same time, complies with the terms of service, simulcasting rules, and policies of each destination platform you stream to, including Twitch, YouTube, and Kick. Some platforms set conditions on simulcasting, for example rules about keeping stream quality consistent across platforms, or rules about directing viewers between platforms. Sleipnir provides the relay technology. It is your responsibility to use it in a way that your destination platforms permit. We are not responsible for any action a destination platform takes against your accounts.
7. Your content
You retain all ownership rights in the content of your streams. You grant Sleipnir only the limited, temporary technical rights necessary to receive your stream and forward it to your configured Destinations. We do not claim ownership of, or any further rights to, your streams.
We do not record, persist, or analyse the content of your streams beyond:
- Brief in-memory buffering required for the relay (typically a few seconds), which is discarded immediately after forwarding.
- Aggregate metadata about each stream session — start time, end time, duration, peak and average bitrate, end reason, and the destinations the stream was forwarded to. This metadata is used to enforce plan limits, generate usage reports in your dashboard, detect abuse, and operate the Service. This metadata is stored in our database for the lifetime of your account and is deleted when you delete your account, in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
We do not retain a copy of the actual video or audio content of your streams.
Stream recording. Stream recording (saving streams as files for later download) is not currently a feature of Sleipnir. We may add a recordings feature in future. If we do, we will update these Terms to describe how it works, ensure that you retain control over and ownership of your recordings, and notify users by email when the feature becomes available.
8. Account suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if:
- You violate these Terms, particularly Section 6
- Your payment method fails after reasonable retry attempts
- You repeatedly exceed your plan's bitrate cap (specifically: 10 bitrate-violation kicks within 24 hours triggers automatic suspension)
- We are required to do so by law or by a valid order from a competent authority
- You request account deletion via the Account page in your dashboard
Suspended accounts cannot publish to Sleipnir. Stored data (account details, Destinations, usage history) remains intact during suspension. To request reactivation, contact [email protected]. Reactivation is at our discretion.
Termination is permanent. Upon termination, your account and associated data may be permanently deleted, except where retention is required by law (for example, financial records for tax purposes).
You may delete your own account at any time from the Account page. Account deletion permanently removes your data within 30 days, except for transactional records we are legally required to retain.
9. Service availability
Sleipnir is provided on an "as available" basis. We do not provide a contractual service-level agreement (SLA) at the current scale of operation.
We aim for high availability but make no service-level commitment beyond the goodwill downtime credit described in Section 5. Streaming is sensitive to network conditions on both ends — we cannot guarantee that your stream will reach a Destination, or that a Destination will accept it.
Planned maintenance, third-party outages (for example at Hetzner, Stripe, Resend, Cloudflare, or the Destinations themselves), or force majeure events may cause interruption. We will make reasonable efforts to communicate planned maintenance in advance.
10. Intellectual property
Sleipnir — including the website, dashboard, name, logo, and underlying software — is the property of the operator and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service in accordance with these Terms. Nothing in these Terms transfers any of our intellectual-property rights to you.
You may not:
- Copy, modify, or create derivative works of the Service
- Use our trademarks without written permission
- Remove or alter any proprietary notices on the Service
11. Copyright complaints
We respect intellectual-property rights. If you believe your copyrighted work has been streamed through Sleipnir without authorisation, please send a takedown notice to [email protected] (the email address remains "dmca" for compatibility with US notice formats; Sleipnir is operated from the United Kingdom).
A valid notice should include:
- Your contact information (name, address, phone, email)
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed
- Identification of the allegedly infringing material (URL or specific stream details, including approximate date and time)
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that use of the material is not authorised
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are authorised to act on behalf of the copyright owner
- Your physical or electronic signature
We respond to valid copyright notices under both UK law (Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988) and notices submitted in DMCA format from US copyright holders. Sleipnir is registered as a designated agent in the US Copyright Office DMCA Designated Agent Directory under registration number DMCA-1072333.
We respond to valid notices by terminating the relevant stream and, in cases of repeat infringement, the account. If you believe your stream was wrongly terminated due to a copyright notice, you may submit a counter-notice to the same address.
12. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranties arising from course of dealing or trade usage.
We do not warrant that:
- The Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
- The Service will meet your specific requirements
- Any defects in the Service will be corrected
- Streams will reach Destinations successfully or be accepted by them
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties; in those jurisdictions, the above exclusions apply only to the extent permitted by law.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) £100.
- We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost data, lost goodwill, or business interruption, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
- Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under English law.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sleipnir and the sole trader operating it from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:
- Your breach of these Terms
- Your violation of any law or third-party right (including intellectual-property rights)
- The content of your streams
- Disputes between you and any Destination
15. Cookies and tracking
Sleipnir uses cookies and similar technologies for essential functionality only:
- Session cookies to keep you logged in to your dashboard. These are HTTP-only, marked Secure, scoped to sleipnir.tv, and expire after 24 hours of inactivity.
- Stripe cookies during checkout. When you start a checkout flow, Stripe sets cookies necessary for processing the payment. These cookies are set by Stripe directly and are subject to Stripe's privacy policy.
We do not currently use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies, and we do not embed third-party analytics scripts on the Service. If we add privacy-respecting analytics in future (such as Plausible Analytics, which does not use cookies), we will update our Privacy Policy to disclose this.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this document shows when changes took effect.
For material changes — those that meaningfully affect your rights or obligations — we will notify you by email at least 30 days before the change takes effect. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance.
For non-material changes (clarifications, formatting, contact details), the updated Terms take effect when posted.
If you do not agree to revised Terms, your remedy is to stop using the Service and cancel your account. The 30-day refund policy does not apply to dissatisfaction with revised Terms unless you are within the original 30-day window of your initial purchase.
17. Governing law and consumer rights
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
For UK consumers: you have rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 that cannot be waived by contract, including rights regarding the quality of digital content. These rights apply alongside, not in place of, your refund and cancellation rights described in Section 5. If you believe Sleipnir does not conform with what was described in our marketing or these Terms, contact [email protected] for resolution.
For consumers in the European Union or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer-protection laws: those laws may grant you additional rights that cannot be waived by contract. Nothing in these Terms is intended to override those rights.
18. Sleipnir is a small indie service
Sleipnir is operated as a small project by an individual sole trader, built with the help of AI tools. We aim for high quality and reliability, but we are a small operation. You should expect occasional bugs and outages, particularly during our first year of operation. We will fix issues we are made aware of and communicate openly about service status.
If you require a polished commercial multistream service with formal SLAs and dedicated 24/7 support, we recommend you consider larger services in this market (such as Restream, Castr, or StreamYard) instead. Sleipnir is for users who value honest pricing, technical transparency, and direct communication with the operator over enterprise polish.
19. Miscellaneous
- Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any policies referenced in them, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
- Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force.
- No waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later.
- Assignment. You may not assign your rights or obligations under these Terms without our written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations, including upon a sale of the business or formation of a successor entity (for example, a future UK Ltd company operating Sleipnir).
- Force majeure. Neither party is liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond reasonable control. Such events include, without limitation: outages at Hetzner Cloud (our hosting provider), Stripe (our payment processor), Resend (our outbound email provider), Cloudflare (our DNS provider, inbound email forwarder, and domain registrar), or Destination platforms (such as Twitch, YouTube, Kick); routing or DNS issues outside our control; natural disasters; war; government action; or any internet-level disruption.
